The Beijing Kundawell Medical Research Institute (Kundawell, 北京空达维尔医学研究院 in Chinese) was founded by Professor Xu Mingtang in 2006 with the support of foreign investments and officially opened in April 2008. The institute is located in the center of China’s capital and occupies an area of 4,000 m².

Kundawell conducts modern medical research at an international level and is also engaged in education, prevention, and rehabilitation. It organizes individual research and wellness programs, as well as educational seminars in Chinese Image Medicine and Zhong Yuan Qigong. Additionally, the institute trains professional health caregivers for households, teaching them Qigong therapy techniques and dietetics.

The institute employs a team of Chinese and foreign professors, national medicine practitioners, and highly specialized experts with knowledge of modern, ancient, and traditional Chinese medicine. They integrate the best methods of diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention from both ancient and modern medicine, creating a platform for international cooperation in healthcare and wellness.

Kundawell is a dynamic institute with spacious interiors. One floor houses the medical research and healthcare department, a lecture hall, a study section, and administrative offices. The upper floor, featuring a large living room, cozy rooms, and a restaurant, is dedicated to clients. Relaxation is possible in a private gym, meditation hall, or during a tea ceremony. A unique rooftop terrace and open-air garden provide panoramic views.

Individual Research Programs at Kundawell

These programs primarily focus on researching severe and incurable diseases, identifying their causes, and then performing comprehensive body regulation using Chinese Image Medicine, Qigong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The main advantage of such programs lies in a comprehensive and individualized approach to each client, addressing all three components of human existence: physical body, energy, and information.

The goal of regulation is not only to remove existing symptoms but also to identify the underlying cause of the disease. If necessary, the institute collaborates with prominent professors and TCM physicians or other specialists in the field.

Research in such programs is targeted and tailored to the individual’s conditions. After an initial assessment of the client’s health, a personalized plan is developed, which includes diagnosis of disease causes and analysis of the most effective procedures from Western medicine, Chinese Image Medicine, and TCM. Daily monitoring allows evaluation of the method’s effectiveness and, if needed, immediate adjustments. Therefore, diseases considered identical by Western medicine can be treated differently through Image Medicine and individualized research. The duration of the stay depends on the specific health issue.

Wellness Programs

Wellness programs are designed for clients with conditions for which the institute has already developed effective treatment methods. Typically, the program lasts two weeks. The client undergoes assessments by multiple specialists in TCM and Chinese Image Medicine, who design a personalized procedure plan.

Programs include:

  • Diagnosis of disease causes by a professor of Chinese Image Medicine

  • A package of wellness procedures by IM specialists

  • TCM doctor examination: pulse diagnosis, determination of individualized procedures – Tuina massage, acupuncture, cupping, guasha, moxibustion

  • Morning dynamic exercises and therapeutic routines

  • Evening Zhong Yuan Qigong meditation exercises for relaxation and strengthening

  • Thematic lectures and recommendations on diet, lifestyle, and self-regulation

  • Excursions to Beijing’s historical sites and individualized free-time programs.

Over more than 10 years of research, the institute has discovered effective methods for treating some severe and chronic conditions.
